University City District’s West Philadelphia Skills Initiative (WPSI) and PIDC’s Navy Yard Skills Initiatives (NYSI) have launched a collaborative professional development program to train Philadelphia residents for quality-wage careers with employer partner Tasty Baking Company.
Tasty Baking Company is located at the historic Navy Yard and will offer opportunities for graduates to interview for part-time Production Associate positions starting at $14.60/hour. Applications are being accepted for the training program through December 17, with the program running January 10 through 28. Interested applicants can visit navyyard.org/workforce/jobs to learn more about the program, training dates, and to submit an application.
PIDC is hosting virtual information sessions on the morning of Thursday, December 2 and 9 to provide an overview of the program, recruitment process, expectations for the program, and attendees will meet with the employer partner, Tasty Baking Company. Registration is now open.
The Production Associate Program is designed to connect participants to the professional and technical training, tools, and support needed to build a meaningful career at Tastykake. This program is a blend of virtual courses/in person sessions and graduates will have the opportunity to interview for part-time production positions.
Who should apply?
Goal-oriented, motivated individuals with a desire to obtain part-time permanent employment in the advanced manufacturing food production industry.
