A traditional Beef Wellington is a meat dish with a piece of tenderloin wrapped in layers of pâté, duxelles (a finely chopped mushroom mixture), parma ham, and finally wrapped and baked in a buttery puff pastry, popularised in recent years due to Gordon Ramsay. The pastry is the most important part of the dish, sealing in the beef juices tightly even as its crust stays buttery and flaky.
However, finding a good Beef Wellington in Singapore can be a little hard, if not incredibly costly (rightly so, as the work and ingredients that go into a Beef Wellington are extensive).
So, we're surprised to hear about a (Actually Good) Beef Wellington hidden in a kopitiam at East Coast Road. And what on earth is this pork tomahawk that Meet 4 Meat offers? The Yummy! Crew got to the bottom of the mystery (as well as the plates) when we were invited to check them out. Let’s see how this humble kopitiam stall fare with their Beef Wellington and other meats.
