Just in time for fall, gurgling-hot, flavorful Taiwanese soups are coming to Concord.

Slated to open in late September, Tasty Pot will bring its medley of boiling hot pot and bubble teas to the Park N Shop just off Highway 242 on Willow Pass Road. The Taiwanese chain already has nine locations in the Bay Area — including San Jose, Berkeley and Dublin — but this will be its first spot in Contra Costa County.

The restaurant, at 1683 Willow Pass Road, will offer 13 types of hearty hot pot ($16.75-$21.25), all  simmered with seasonings imported from Taiwan, meat bones and Napa cabbage. Top sellers at the other Bay Area eateries include the Beef Hot Pot with tender slices of beef, enoki mushrooms, taro and tofu skin,  the Kimchi Dumpling Hot Pot with pork and vermicelli, and the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup.

Add-ons start at $2 and include everything from udon and quail eggs to dumplings and spicy fermented tofu. Tasty Pot also offers a small menu of appetizers, including the new Basil Popcorn Chicken ($7), as well as Fried Calamari ($7).

And you can cool your palate and get your milk tea fix from the beverage menu, which offers more than 20 bubble teas in flavors like Rose Matcha Latte and Peach Green Tea.
