ELLWOOD CITY ― J&A Eats food truck is at The Tee Box on Beaver Avenue on Tuesdays from 7 to 11 a.m. with great breakfasts for people on the go or folks who just want something different to start the day.
Jackie and Andy Davin, owners of the business that started last year, are passionate about food and serving people. They enjoy it so much they do the food truck on the days they aren't working at Shakespeare's Restaurant in North Sewickley Township where Andy is the executive chef and Jackie is the assistant events manager.
A recent menu included a hot sausage omelet, potato pancakes, mini pancakes and their staple items, breakfast grilled cheese, breakfast burger and walking sausage gravy and biscuits. Prices range from $4 to $12. The wait time is minimal as Andy cooks and serves it hot right there in his mini kitchen, and he is smiling while he does it.

Four years ago, Andy became the executive chef at Shakespeare's Restaurant after working in several different style restaurants including North Country Brewery and Breakneck Tavern.
Also four years ago, Jackie and Andy met at Shakespeare's, fell in love, married and now have a 1-year-old son, Cayden, and their lives continue to revolve around the food industry.
Jackie said that she and Andy hope their hard work and dedication will set an example for their son.
"I had started at Shakespeare's when I was 18 as a waitress and worked my way up to assistant events manager. Shakespeare's is a second family to me," Jackie said. "We are very thankful that Shakespeare's has been flexible and supportive of us starting our own family business."
The couple says they are planning on adding lunch items to the food truck in the future.
They do special menus for special events, such as loaded nachos and smash burgers at football games, and they were at Fearscapes in Ellwood City doing a late-night snack menu.
Jackie said they could not have started their business without her mother, Dianna Moser, and step-father, Kevin Moser, who is a contractor.
The Mosers had purchased an empty trailer and over time Kevin began redoing the inside of the trailer and constructed the small but efficient kitchen that has double ovens, stove top, griddle, triple sink, multiple coolers, prep area and shelves/cabinets for storage.
Dianna did the research to find the equipment and supplies for the food trailer.
Jackie said the whole food idea started when the Mosers had redone their property for three of their children's weddings.
For the weddings, they had built bathrooms, a pavilion and a pond, in a beautiful scenic venue that became Homesites Hidden Events, a setting for private affairs.
J&A Eats got its start catering for these events. The Davins have a wide variety of catering options for birthday parties, class reunions, weddings and private dinners.

"We would not be where we are today without Kevin and Dianna and Homesites Hidden Events," Jackie said.
Andrew Rayner, Jackie’s brother, also helps work the food trailer and brother Eric Rayner does most of the advertising that includes a Facebook page, videos and other promotions.
"We are thankful for our family and friends who have supported this journey of starting our own business and to our customers who are just great," Jackie said.
