On Friday, June 10, 2022, Seitu was at the opening of the Krab Queenz Seafood restaurant that’s bringing the taste of Louisiana Cajun food to Harlem, NY.
With Harlem World Magazine Lousiana roots it’s great to see one of Louisiana’s finest seafood restaurants bringing a massive new location right here in Harlem, and the community coming out to support them from Melba to residents and others.
The restaurant has an amazing history, the Krab Queenz Seafood was founded by Louisiana-based restaurateur Tonique Clay in 2017.
Mississippi-born but Louisiana-raised, Tonique’s creative vision is defined by her “Country Cajun” upbringing, which exposed her long ago to the powerful flavor profiles of Cajun-styled seafood.
With specialty sauces and spices handcrafted from Tonique’s kitchen, Krab Queenz seeks to create a culinary experience that can only be described as “SO DAMN GOOD.”
As the first Cajun restaurant to fuse seafood boils with the fun of creative daiquiris, Krab Queenz exploded in popularity as it earned a reputation for superior guest experiences, quality and succulent dishes, and over-the-top parties hosted by live DJs.
Fusing together delicious Louisiana-style seafood with a dynamic and invigorating atmosphere, Krab Queenz is known for serving up a great time for every guest.
Today, the popular restaurant boasts six locations across the country, including two in Houston and one in Atlanta.
Now, New Yorkers will be able to get a taste of the southern sensation that has been steadily rocking the country’s buds.
Krab Queenz is now planning to open a brand new restaurant in Harlem (and their first in the Northeast) at 100 West 125th Street in Harlem, NY.
Replacing the former Olive Garden that used to occupy the space, the location offers an impressive 10,500 square feet of space.
Wharton Properties building Krab Queenz struck a 6-year sublease with restaurant conglomerate Darden Restaurants, known for representing iconic American brands like Longhorn Steakhouse and Seasons 52.
Tonique Clay stated that the deal “Harlem is the Black Mecca of the world, as an African woman I thought it would be a great move for the brand,” according to the Commercial Observer.
The new restaurant will be joining a slew of recognizable brands at the space, such as Whole Foods market, American Eagle, and Bath & Body Works.
Tonique and the Krab Queenz team are proud to bring their home of “The Best Damn Butter Sauce! Home of “The Best Damn Butter Sauce!” to Harlem.
It seems we need to look no further than Krab Queenz Seafood for the most savory and delicious seafood in the area.
Tip: they are famous for our large portions, fun environment succulent seafood, and The Best Damn Butter Sauce.
Don’t forget the Snow Crabs and Shrimps accompanied by our delightful sides steeped in our famous garlic herb butter or our well-seasoned fried seafood platters.
Either way, you will leave happy as a Queenz.
