KALAMAZOO, MI -- Restaurants in Kalamazoo are looking down the barrel of another three weeks without the dine-in patrons they depend on, after new coronavirus restrictions went into effect Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Though the ban has caused some local restaurants to close their doors, many others in the Kalamazoo area are still open for takeout, delivery and outdoor dining options. Here are a few especially delicious options:

Louie’s Trophy House:

Louie’s Trophy House, at 629 Walbridge St., proudly touts its position as the oldest bar in Kalamazoo, serving the community since 1918. Louie’s serves a wide-variety of bar-food favorites from burgers to pizza, nachos and salads. They currently are doing takeout and curbside and also have beer to-go. Their patio is open for customers based on the weather. To place an order call 269-385-9359.

Julianna’s Restaurant:

Julianna’s Restaurant, at 2105 Lake St., has been serving homestyle breakfast and lunch for over 25 years. Offerings include everything from omelets to pancakes for breakfast, and a variety of sandwiches, burgers and salads for lunch. Julianna’s offers a drive-thru and a takeout option. In addition, they have a delivery option through GrubHub. To place a carry-out order call 269-345-0220.

600 Kitchen & Bar:

600 Kitchen & Bar, at 600 E. Michigan Ave., focuses on sourcing a majority of its food from Michigan farmers and artisans. The restaurant offers creative sandwiches and salads as well as mouthwatering entrees, like grilled salmon and Michigan cut steak. The patio is open for customers, based on weather. You can order takeout online, or call 269-443-2401 to place an order. Currently the restaurant does not offer delivery.

Nonla Burger:

Nonla Burger has two Kalamazoo locations — at 2103 S. Burdick St. and 1700 S. Drake Road, Suite A. Nonla Burger offers delicious burgers, chicken sandwiches, hand-cut fries a daily milkshake flavor and more. They also offer a Beyond Veggie Burger for those looking for a vegetarian or vegan option. Nonla offers takeout at both locations, with some outdoor dining availability based on the weather.

Brite Eyes Brewing Co.:

Brite Eyes Brewing Co., at 1156 S Burdick St., is a microbrewery nestled in Kalamazoo’s Southtown neighborhood. Brite Eyes not only offers beer and cider to-go, but a variety of burgers and sandwiches as well. If you’re lucky, their BBQ smoker may be cooking up rib tips or chicken dinners as well. The outdoor beer garden is open, dependent on weather. Customers can order takeout or curbside pickup online, or call 269-220-5001.
