Five fantasy football sleepers that deserve consideration for your Week 11 lineup.
The 2020 NFL season has now seen 10 weeks pass by and this past week was certainly a strange one for fantasy football. It was not necessarily a low-scoring week around the league but many studs let you down while players that may be sitting on your waiver wire ended up with huge weeks.
As for the sleepers I highlighted, performance was strong across the board. Micheal Pittman Jr. finished as the WR14, JD McKissic finished as the RB14 and Jordan Reed finished as the TE6 in half-point PPR scoring. The only guy that did not come through was Tua Tagovailoa as, even though he looks good and is 3-0 as a starter, he simply does not have the volume needed to be fantasy relevant.
Looking ahead to Week 11, the Chicago Bears, San Fransisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills and New York Giants are all on bye. Even though these are not the most fantasy-relevant teams, there is always the opportunity for a sneaky start in your lineup, whether it be due to injury, an underperforming starter, or a tough matchup.
Here are five sleepers with tasty matchups that can make an impact in your Week 11 fantasy football lineup. Note: All stats and info via Fantasy Pros.
Fantasy football sleeper No. 5: QB Jameis Winston, New Orleans (vs. Atlanta)
With Drew Brees likely to miss some time after suffering a broken rib and collapsed lung in Week 10, Jameis Winston looks to step in as the starting quarterback for the Saints. Even though Sean Payton has yet to announce Winston as the official starter, he is bound to take over the lead role with Taysom Hill likely seeing a slight uptick in his rushing, passing and receiving work.
Winston should get his season off to a good start against an Atlanta defense allowing 26.8 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, the most in the league.
Fantasy Football sleeper No. 4: RB Salvon Ahmed, Miami (vs. Denver)
With Matt Breida and Jordan Howard inactive, Ahmed stepped up as the lead back for the Dolphins rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Though a lot of things had to fall his way for Ahmed to get an opportunity, it was clear that once they did he was their bell-cow, handling 21 of 26 rushing attempts.
If Breida is unable to go again in Week 11, Ahmed would have strong flex appeal against a Denver defense that just let Josh Jacobs and Devante Booker run for almost 200 yards and four touchdowns. Even if Breida is active, keep an eye on reports as there is certainly value to be had in this Dolphins backfield.
Fantasy Football sleepers No. 3: WR Jalen Reagor, Philadelphia (vs. Cleveland)
In a strong rookie wide receiver class, Reagor is one of the few first-round picks who have yet to emerge as a fantasy option. This has not necessarily been at any fault of his own, as he has spent most of the season injured and his quarterback has been arguably the worst in the league. Regardless, he still led his team in targets this past week and has provided a decent floor in his two games back from injury.
He could very well put up solid numbers the next two weeks against Cleveland and Seattle, who have both given up plenty of points to the wide receiver position all year. Though his upside is capped by Wentz’s poor play, he provides a floor not many waiver-wire options can provide, making him a strong bye week fill in.
Fantasy Football sleepers No. 2: WR David Moore, Seattle (vs. Arizona)
Moore’s situation is almost the polar opposite of Reagor’s as he has one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL throwing him the ball, yet he sits as the Seahawks’ WR3. However, he has still shown his ability to be fantasy relevant, as he has four touchdowns in nine games.
With Tyler Lockett questionable on a short week of rest and an over-under of 56.5, there is certainly a chance for Moore to have a strong fantasy output, though you would have to be in a pretty rough situation to consider throwing him into your lineup if Lockett is active.
Fantasy Football sleepers No. 1: TE Irv Smith Jr./Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota (vs. Dallas)
Unless you have Travis Kelce or Darren Waller, chances are the tight end position has not been kind to you this year. Though Irv Smith Jr. was unable to get healthy in time for his Week 10 game, he was as consistent as they come at the tight end position beforehand, with at least 10 PPR points in three of his last four games played. In his absence, Kyle Rudolph managed a respectable four catches for 63 yards.
If Irv Smith Jr. is inactive once again, Rudolph becomes a solid streaming option against a weak Dallas defense. If Smith Jr is active, he becomes a sneaky play, especially in standard leagues where he has a good chance to pay off with a touchdown. It is also worth noting, if you play on ESPN leagues, Taysom Hill has tight end eligibility and should be rostered given the current tight end landscape.
