Casa Lever, also in midtown Manhattan, is another fashion haunt. The sophisticated spot, open since 2009 and restyled by William T. Georgis Architect, serves excellent Milanese cuisine and is decorated with striking artworks by Damien Hirst.
American Bar, serving Continental dishes that we all know and love, is the new kid on the fashion block. Reminiscent of an intimate club, it has a bright yellow dining room and brass bar. The peanut chicken salad and lobster pasta are the dishes to get, and Thursdays to Saturdays are the best nights for people-watching and when you’re likely to see a celebrity—or two.
The just opened Saga, from the same team as hotspot Crown Shy, is poised to be New York’s next stylish boîte. Located on the 63rd floor of an Art Deco tower in the Financial District, the upscale restaurant serves a seasonal tasting menu and features outdoor terraces with views of the Brooklyn Bridge. Saga’s interiors are as fashionable as its customers are bound to be and include green marble, woven cane, and brass.

When it comes to Los Angeles, fashionistas have flocked to the oceanfront set Nobu Malibu for almost a decade. People-watching never disappoints here, but the water views are also a big attraction, along with the sushi rolls, sashimi, and other seafood specialties from the namesake chef.
The recently opened Gigi’s is also bringing in a glittering crowd. The Hollywood Media District restaurant reinterprets French classics with a Californian twist—the roast chicken and cheeseburger with onions are proving themselves to be two of the biggest crowd-pleasers.
Now, onto Europe and the fashion nexuses of Milan, London, and Paris.
In the City of Lights, fashion insiders are always jockeying for the prime dinner seating at Balagan. Located just off Saint-Honoré, the Israeli spot has a distinct downtown Manhattan vibe and is decked out in blue banquettes, gold mirrors, and bright tiles. Go for the lamb with pistachios and harissa here, and definitely order a cocktail before your meal—the list is long and creative.
