Chillicothe (HOI) --- In the sweet spirit of Valentine's Day Weekend, the city of Chillicothe held a special event for chocolate lovers.
The Chillicothe Chocolate Tour took place on Saturday along the historic downtown 2nd Street.
For just $10 per person, visitors sampled delicious chocolate treats from 11 different shops.
Strawberry shortcake cups and milk chocolate goody boxes were just a few of the treats given out Saturday.
Only 100 tickets were available, and the event's coordinators said they sold out quickly.
"We actually have people from Rock Island, Princeton, Pekin, Morton and Washington who purchased tickets and (came) to our little town today," said Molly Crusen-Bishop with the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce.
Crusen-Bishop says the event was not only a good way to give people something to do during the pandemic, but it was beneficial to the shopkeepers as well.
If you're in Chillicothe, visit downtown for all of your last-minute Valentine's Day needs.
